Child safety
Zero tolerance. We remove content that sexualises or endangers a child, close the accounts involved, and report it to the authorities as the law requires — including under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
What happens if the rules are broken
We may remove the content, suspend the account, or close it, depending on how serious the breach is. Breaking the rules can also carry a penalty under the law: see our terms.
How to report
- In the app: use Report on the message or post. In development
- To our grievance officer: see how to complain. Intimate images, nudity, sexual content or impersonation have their own urgent route, and are removed within 2 hours of a complaint.
Appeal
If we remove something of yours, we tell you why. You can appeal once, and a different moderator decides. If you are still not satisfied, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee within 30 days.
AI-generated media
Our apps do not create or alter images, audio or video with AI today, so the IT Rules’ duties for synthetically generated information do not yet apply to us. When we ship such a feature, this section will set out how that media is labelled.
