Chat, our first product, runs in production on the web. Two real people held a real conversation on it — on the web and on an Android phone — and every check passed. Live
What works today
- One-to-one and group conversations, live, with no reload. Live
- Typing, presence, and delivered and seen receipts. Live
- Photos and files, shared inside a conversation. Live
- Notifications when a message arrives. Live
- Friend requests, and a list of the people you know. Live
Each of these was exercised end to end on production, through our own software foundation — the same sign-in, conversations, files and notifications every future product of Anandians Connections will use. Live
What is still coming
- The Chat Android app works against production. It is not yet on Google Play. In development
- Chat has run on a real iPhone. There is no public iPhone build yet. In development
- Reporting a message, and moderation with one appeal decided by a different moderator. In development
What we have not done yet
- End-to-end encryption of messages. Planned Messages are protected in transit and on our servers, but they are not end-to-end encrypted — we say so on the Chat page too.
- Chat on Google Play, with its data-safety section. Planned
